I'm Roger Evernden, and Evernden.net is my web site. I've worked as an Enterprise Architect since 1984, and I believe passionately that architecture makes a huge difference to how well an organisation runs. It was created to provide an outlet for selling enterprise architecture tools, artefacts, books, articles, presentations; to give details of the enterprise architecture services and training that I can provide; and to provide a free resource of materials, links, and news about Enterprise Architecture.
The basic premise behind the site is to be different from other Enterprise Architecture sites - providing Enterprise Architecture with a difference.
Well... there are a number of factors to take into account. Here are some of the issues that might influence your decision.
It's hard to define exactly what separates a good idea from a bad one.
Having practical ideas is a big selling point - being able to understand a client situation and selecting the right techniques to help provide a solution. But then most people would argue that their solutions are practical!
Really good ideas get you to a better solution faster. I make sure that I produce great ideas that provide real value for your money. With bad ideas you spend a lot of time and effort heading in the wrong direction.
At the heart of my approach is the belief that ideas only work if you are prepared to put in plenty of effort - they only work if you and I work too. So the first thing I do is work hard to understand you, your business and your objectives. Only then can I bring that elusive mix of people, approach, experience and ideas to deliver the solution and results that you seek.
For some people it's a drag. For some people it's fun. I happen to enjoy what I do - I get really enthusiastic about information and information management.
I believe with a passion that information is the 4th resource, the major corporate asset of the information age - after people, money and physical resources. And so I've been working with some of the world's leading companies in this area. I've been involved in some of the most exciting information management projects of the last 20 years. Ground-breaking, innovative, challenging, successful, relevant, necessary - these are just some of the words used to describe them!
I'm proud of my success and achievements. The projects that I have been involved in have given me a lot of experience and knowledge. It still begs the question - do I have experience of the problems and issues that keep you awake at night? Well send me an email - I am always seeking the next challenge!
Well its here that you will have the chance to make detailed comparisons with my competitors. So you need to know the type of products that I supply and the various features and characteristics of those products to make it easier to make comparisons.
I sell enterprise architecture artefacts. Now what does that mean? The best way to understand is to browse the online catalogue and see what's on offer. This is constantly being expanded and updated.
Competitors may say they have something similar. Check out things like - the level of detail, the intended users, how often materials are updated, and how easy they are to understand and use. Well I could go on with a whole list of things. Give me a call or send an email to find out more.
You may have heard of my name - you may not. Choosing someone with a name that you recognise is reassuring. If you havent heard me before, then I am sure you will know some of my clients.
A select list of clients includes: IBM, Microsoft, ING Barings, Capital Bank, ASLK-CGER, Barclays Bank, Banamex, Den norske Bank, Cranfield Management School, Bank of Ireland International Services, Bradford and Bingley ...
Some people feel that dealing with a big name is important. I'm not the largest, but instead of trying to cover everything I focus in information issues (rather than information technology or information systems).
But this still begs the question: am I right for you? And the best way to answer that is to meet me and hear what I can do for you.
I've covered a lot of the rational, sensible issues. Now for the irrational bit - things like intuition, feelings, and chemistry. These factors are difficult to pin down, but they are at the heart of many of the rational decisions we make.
Choosing a partner to help you make the most of your information means finding the right people. Finding people that are right for you! Do you like them? Can you work with them?
I've tried to give you a flavour of how I like to go about business, but to fully appreciate my approach and to find out whether I am your cup of tea - I'd like to meet you face to face.
And in the final analysis, you hire me to produce deliverables, make changes or transfer skills!
And that is the main reason I get along so well with my clients.
