Enterprise Architecture People

Links to some of the most influential people in enterprise architecture - an enterprise architecture hall of fame.

Richard Saul Wurman
Wurman is considered a pioneer in the practice of making information understandable. He has written and designed over 80 books and created the TED conferences. In 1976 he coined the phrase information architect out of his reaction to a society that daily creates massive amounts of information, but with little care or order.

John Zachman - ZIFA
The originator of the framework for enterprise architecture (1987) which has received broad acceptance around the world as an integrative framework, or "periodic table" of descriptive representations for Enterprises.

Tom Davenport - Make IT Matter
Writer and thinker - currently holds the President's Chair in Information Technology and Management at Babson College and is responsible for the overall management of the Process Management Research Center.

Edward Tufte
Edward Tufte has written some wonderful books that deal largely with the presentation of information (presentation is one of the 8 factors). It is a delight to read his work because he looks at the big picture instead of the more common IT view.

"EA has evolved from drawing pictures and modeling IT landscapes into a business driven approach for mapping successful transformations...."
George Paras, Editor-in-Chief of Architecture & Governance Magazine
