Step 6: Gathering feedback

Find out what works and what doesn't.

The six steps from an iterative process that can be repeated whenever changes or enhancements are required. Changes are driven either by a desire to improve or by gathering feedback.

The outputs from this step include:

Benefits from gathering feedback include:

  • Information which is aligned with needs.
  • Feedback is the quickest way to tailor requirements to your specific needs. Information produces the greatest benefit when it is fully customised to the contexts in which it is being used.
  • Constant improvements in the use of information.

Without this step:

  • There would be missed opportunities for using information.
  • Problems and weaknesses with the use of information might go undetected.

Time and effort:

This is another on-going function. It is a good idea to schedule a periodic review of how everything is going, in addition to requesting feedback and making observations on a regular basis.

Training modules cover:

  • Gathering and using feedback
  • Staying calm, cool and in control in the face of complexity and change
  • Becoming an information master
