The other day I was asked: if enterprise architecture is so good, why are there no well-known, public success stories? Well – there are! But maybe as enterprise architects we don’t publicize or reference them enough.
One source for successful EA case studies is the InfoWorld/Forrester Enterprise Architecture Awards, which have been awarded annually since 2010. InfoWorld and Forrester, in partnership with the Penn State University Center for Enterprise Architecture recognize organizations whose architectural excellence has had major business impact.
The 2012 Awards highlight “the importance of developing a common framework for business and technology within which enterprise architects and their allies can plan and execute transformational change.” The five winning organizations are National Grid, the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Northwestern Mutual, Sberbank, and Telstra Global.
